FAQ - CounterScore® Installation Instructions
Is it bad if I don't use alcohol wipes and dry wipes?
It is highly recommended to use the alcohol wipe to degrease the edge of your racket, even the residues invisible to the naked eye. Then, it is imperative to dry the area well, because the remaining traces of alcohol could peel off the CounterScore®.
Why should I fold my CounterScore® before applying it?
We recommend bending the CounterScore® before applying it to make it more flexible and improve its adhesion to the racket.
How to choose the best side for fixing?
Inspect your racket carefully and choose the side with the least curved throat. A flatter side provides an ideal surface for optimal grip of the CounterScore®, ensuring a durable and secure attachment.
What are the steps to follow to correctly install CounterScore®?
1. Test without gluing
Before removing the adhesive, place the CounterScore® on the throat of your racket (inside or outside) and bend it so that it follows the curve perfectly. 🔄
2. Clean and Dry
Use the alcohol towel (green No.1) to clean the application area, then dry it with the towel (pink No.2). 🧼✨
3. Glue
Remove the adhesive protection, position the CounterScore® and press firmly for 5 to 6 minutes. 🔒
4. Option: Strong glue for special rackets
For curved or grainy rackets, apply a light bead of glue to the back of the CounterScore® without overflowing, so as not to block the buttons. 🛠️
5. Let it harden
Wait 1-2 hours before playing (12 hours for optimal fixation). ⏳🎾
Important ⚠️: The buttons are initially a little stiff to prevent them from moving during smashes or vibrations. They will become more flexible with use, while remaining reliable. 💪
Why are the buttons on my CounterScore® difficult to move?
The buttons may feel a little stiff at first, but don't worry, they will naturally soften with time and use. This initial stiffness is normal and contributes to the durability of the product.
What should I do if my racket has a very curved throat?
If your racket has a very curved throat (like the Yonex Ezone for tennis or some padel rackets), bend and pinch the CounterScore® units slightly to adapt them to the shape. Don't worry, this will not damage the product. To ensure better grip, apply prolonged pressure when placing the CounterScore and let it harden.
How long does it take for the adhesive to reach full adhesion?
CounterScore® adhesive strengthens over time. It is recommended to let the product sit for at least 1-2 hours after installation, but ideally, leave it overnight to ensure optimal adhesion.
Does the CounterScore® adhesive withstand extreme conditions?
Absolutely! The CounterScore® is equipped with a high-quality adhesive designed to withstand extreme temperatures. Whether you play in intense sunlight or in harsh conditions, this adhesive remains reliable.
Can I transfer the CounterScore® to another racket?
No, CounterScore® cannot be transferred. Once the adhesive has been used, it loses its effectiveness, making it difficult to attach to a new racket.
What if the CounterScore® does not stick properly after installation?
If you are experiencing grip issues, this may be due to an improperly prepared surface (uncleaned or damp). Make sure the racket is completely clean and dry before reapplying the scorer. If the problem persists, please contact us for assistance.
